After these last 5 days it is really starting to sink in that my brother, Tom and I used 2 person CPR to save our father. I can't stress enough the importance of taking a class. Be certified because you never know...
As of today my Dad is doing good but we still have a long road ahead of us. The Doctors say it is very positive. Will he be the same? We don't know but we will do whatever it takes to help him through this.
I will have to post an update soon as to what has happened in the last 5 days. The prayers are still needed...they are working.

Dad....
This is probably the hardest thing for me to do. But I am here alone right now and need to kind of "vent", more in a sad way. This is a day I need to mark down because it will be one we as a family will never forget.
My Mom woke me up this morning saying Dad collapsed. My God! I went into actions thinking it was an injury or something. But I went out side to the porch and there we was lying there. I am not going to go into details because it's a picture I kind of want to erase. My Dad was unresponsive. I shook him, nothing. Told Mom to dial 911 now. She woke up my brother and he rushed out. Between him and I we started CPR...I started the compressions and he kept Dad's head tilt back and tried to keep his airway open. I kept these compressions going until help arrived and they took over. Again I won't go into detail as they worked on him. When he left they had him breathing and a pulse.
He made it to the hospital and then airlifted him to another with a great cardiac unit. I will have to kid my Dad for flying in a helicopter and he wasn't too wake to know it. Anyway, he did make to that hospital which is a real good sign. They said he did indeed go into full cardiac arrest. He had a very bad clogged artery. So right now they have cooled him down to keep him paralyzed, his color is good, heart rate and blood pressure normal. There was no damage to the heart. They told Mom that they do not anticipate any problems for the next couple of days. They will start the process of warming him up on Sunday and we will go from there.
The outlook...too early to tell but without the first onset of CPR and then the defib...

She's back but....
Rheeya is back. We found her at the pound. I guess she was picked up that night both dogs ran off. AND we drove around, too. After 10 days we decided to call H.A.R.T. which a our local shelter. I gave them the description of Rheeya and Digger. They told me they had a black lab/mix female that was brought in on July 26th around the County Rd 1 and 66 intersection. They told me she was the only one picked up. So where is Digger???
The next day I went down to the shelter and yep, it was her. $160.00 dollars later we bailed her out of the shelter's jail and brought her home. It is still hard to try and be happy and sad at the same time because Digger is still gone. We hope that someone has him. Either they are waiting for someone to place an ad for a reward or what... We keep checking in with the shelter to see if he has been either picked up or turned in. We just don't know where to look anymore. We are trying not to think the worst.
We are still holding out hope.....
