TOO COOL

The last Thursday which would have been the 31st of May, I had the outside lights on. I kept hearing June Bugs hitting the window and decided to get up and get something to drink. Then this thing kept fluttering near the lights. It was kind of hard to get a good look at it. At first I thought is was a bat because it was THAT big. And I did see some bats fly by but it sure wasn't a bat. It was a Moth, A BIG MOTH!

The next morning I was heading into Brainerd to pick Barry up and when I looked at the front of the house, there it was. When I wanted to get a closer look the Moth opened up its wings. With the wing span it had to have been as big as my open hand. I kid you not!

Now I am trying to identify it.

Some kids found a moth JUST like this on our playground the last week of school. The colors and size are amazing. We tried some searches but didn't have time to really research enough to figure out what is was or where it might have come from. Maybe it's the same moth??? :)

Hey, I am waiting from some site I found for confirmation as to which Moth it is since I found 2 similar ones. I sent them the picture and the were really eager as to when I saw it, address, city, state and county that I had seen it. Hope to find out more info and will let you know.

To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with Spring.

Look back on our struggle for freedom, trace our present day's strength to it's source; And you'll find that man's pathway to glory is strewn with the bones of a horse.

Quote of the Day

Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.
